W.L. Gore and Associates Incorporated (Gore) is pleased to announce the Gore Fellow Awards for the year 2015. The purpose of the Gore Fellow Awards, totaling $13,000 this year, is to recognize developing researchers who plan to pursue careers in industrial research and product development. The award will be given as a gift to successful applicants for use at their discretion. The award shall be in addition to or above salary or stipend support. At least three awards will be made: One gold level award of no less than $8,000 over 2 years, one silver level award of no less than $4,000 over 2 years, and at least one bronze award of $1,000. The Manufacturing Sciences group in AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA leads the optimization, validation, continuous improvement and global technical support for late stage and commercial manufacturing of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies for AbbVie. One focus for our group is to discover cutting-edge knowledge and technologies for bioprocess development and optimization. Currently, we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher working on metabolic engineering and metabolic pathway study in mammalian cells to improve cell culture performance, productivity and product quality of biologics.
